APPLICATIONS OF 3D LASER SCANNING IN CIVIL ENGINEERING.

The municipality of Eindhoven recently asked us to measure a few bridges and convert them into a 3-D model.

They wanted the Strijps Bultje to provide insight into the span between the heads of land and also to have a 3-D model for volume and size determinations.

We measured the bridge with 3D laser scanners and converted this data into a 3-D model in Revit. On the basis of this model, the municipality can visualise any adjustments and they can also look at the collision protection.

The 3D model and the point cloud give all parties involved a reliable file before the start of each project.
