3D Surveying / pointcloud pedestrian bridge at TUE and conversion to Pointcloud and Revit Model
For the renovation of the footbridge connecting the Matrix and Vertigo buildings on the campus of the Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE), we conducted a detailed 3D survey. This footbridge, located on the TUE campus in Eindhoven, will largely be preserved while other sections are demolished and rebuilt.
Project Details:
Location: Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE), Eindhoven
Project: Renovation of the Matrix – Vertigo Footbridge
Objective: To preserve the existing suspension structure and provide up-to-date and accurate construction information for the renovation
Pointcloud to BIM in Revit Approach by BIMnD:
To achieve an accurate and comprehensive representation of the existing structure, we used high-end 3D laser scanners. This technology offers exceptional accuracy, resolution, and coverage. The collected survey data (pointcloud) was combined with historical drawings and converted into a 3D construction model and architectural model in Revit.
Deliverables:
Pointcloud: provided in RCP/RCS format
3D Construction and Architectural Model: Delivered in Revit 2024 format
Virtual Tour: A virtual tour of the modelled footbridge
The survey data has been made available online for a period of 12 months, allowing all stakeholders to easily access the data online and eliminating the need for on-site visits.
At BIMnD, we are committed to delivering high-quality and reliable construction information for various projects using advanced 3D surveying techniques and BIM modelling. Our approach ensures accurate and efficient renovation processes.
